A crucial contest in the Western Conference is set for Viernes de Fútbol when Vancouver Whitecaps FC play host to the San Jose Earthquakes at BC Place. Both teams come into the game sitting below the red line in the conference, Whitecaps FC two points out in seventh place, and the Quakes a further two points back in eighth. Vancouver return home off a winless three-game road swing, the last a 2-0 defeat at the Colorado Rapids last weekend. The Quakes have played to three consecutive draws, coming off a goalless result with New York City FC at Avaya Stadium.
